Slanted, slightly curved backrest, attached to the seat by two supports at the bottom. Kangaroo Bench

Replica of Original Pierre Jeanneret Bench from c. 1955The compact and comfortable Pierre Jeanneret Kangaroo Bench also known as the “Kangourou Banquette” is a two-seater arrangement that works for all kinds of spaces. Mostly seen in the halls of the general hospital and in private residences around 1955, this low bench style was designed for lounging. The solid teakwood frame features braided canework on the seat and backrest. The slanted backrest forms the base and continues into the legs giving this piece a horizontal ‘Z’ shaped profile. The three front legs are connected together by two separate rods. All our pieces are made by hand using the exact same materials and techniques used during the Chandigarh masterplan. Replica of Original Pierre Jeanneret Chair from c. 1955Low chair known as “kangourou” in solid reclaimed teak and braided canework. Canework seat and backrest on a profiled teak structure forming a base at the back. Two slanting, profiled legs at the front. The slightly curved backrest, seat and leg follow on from each other to form a horizontal “Z” shape.
